About Us

Guesthouse

Rowan Lodge has three en-suite bedrooms, two doubles and one superior twin, each room has a selection of Teas, Coffee and Hot Chocolate for your arrival, Flat Screen Freeview TV and Free Wi-Fi.

Built in 1967 Rowan Lodge was purposely built as the village shop, then a few years later the shop was closed and Rowan Lodge was turned into a Tea Room to run along side Lanreath Museum which was next door. When the museum was closed down it was turned back into the village shop and post office, this was then closed and returned to a family home and the shop and post office was moved to a newly purpose built building just a few yards away. In 2013 we purchased Rowan Lodge and converted it into a B&B.

Guests are invited to use all the garden which extends up steps to beautiful far reaching views across the hills with plenty of seating areas where you can sit with a glass of wine and read or just admire the view, guests are also welcome to use the washing machine and tumble dryer housed in the utility room.

The cottages are equipped with cooker, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, kettle, kitchen utensils and crockery, they have a flat screen Freeview TV with built in DVD player and free Wi-Fi, an iron and ironing board, bedding and towels are supplied.

Each cottage has outside seating area where you can sit and enjoy a cup of tea or glass of wine after your day exploring Cornwall, or go alfresco, you are invited to use all the garden which extends up steps to beautiful far reaching views across the hills with plenty of seating areas, guests are also welcome to use the washing machine and tumble dryer housed in the utility room.

Lanreath

Rowan Lodge is in a pretty little village called Lanreath, pronounced Lanreth, the Parish can trace its existence back at least to the Domesday book of 1086, when it was known as Lanredoch.

It is in a pretty little village called Lanreath, pronounced Lanreth, the Parish can trace its existence back at least to the Domesday book of 1086, when it was known as Lanredoch.

Lanreath is well steeped in legend, including the alleged sighting on numerous occasions of a ghost dressed in black driving a coach pulled by headless horses. Intending visitors shouldn’t worry though – he hasn’t been seen for ages!
